Minions: The Rise of Gru review – A kid-friendly slapstick with parent-friendly nostalgia
Although tasty in small doses, the first Minions movie in 2015 proved that comic side characters don’t make for a satisfying main course. But the highly merchandisable yellow weirdos have helped Despicable Me become the biggest global animated franchise in history.
