Laurence Olivier and Charles Laughton bitter feud on Spartacus ‘They were like animals’
LAURENCE OLIVIER and Charles Laughton’s long-running loathing of each other reduced them to “snarling animals” according to Spartacus co-star Peter Ustinov, who described their feuding in delicious detail. Laughton also repeatedly threatened to sue leading man and producer Kirk Douglas and called the original script “a piece of s**t.”
